Paul Eurek Announces Candidacy for State Senate
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Nov. 12, 2007
Loup City, NE-Paul Eurek a Loup City native announced today that he is running for the State Senate seat for District 41 in the 2008 election. District 41 includes Antelope, Boone, Garfield, Greeley, Howard, Sherman, Valley, and northern Hall counties.
"I believe that we must reinvigorate our grass roots democratic process and make the legislature work for the people of Nebraska, "said Eurek. "In the age of career politicians and complex policy making, many people have become disfranchised and feel out-of-touch with today's law makers".
Eurek added, "The focus of my campaign will be on affordable and accessible healthcare, an education system that prepares our children for the future, the well being of our agriculture economy, rural economic development, and support for programs to ensure our elderly have access to all the benefits available during their twilight years".
Paul along with his parents and eight siblings lived on the family farm in the township of Ashton until he earned his bachelors degree in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 1982 he was employed by software and computer manufacturer, NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR). He resigned his position at NCR as an Executive Manager to pursue his first entrepreneurial venture. Mr. Eurek is the founder/co-founder of four start-up technology companies and currently holds the position of Chairman at his most recent technology start-up Xpanxion. He believes that his experience, his leadership, and his clear dedication to the state will enable him to make a positive contribution to the Senate and the people of Nebraska.
Paul (age 48) and his wife Deb moved back to the Sherman County area from Atlanta, Georgia where they were both active in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, The Ronald McDonald House, and other charitable non-profit organizations. They have a son Nicholas who is in his second year of law school.
More jobs in Nebraska
Xpanxion, a global software engineering company founded by Paul Eurek, opened a Kearney office last year. Xpanxion is growing its Nebraska-based software quality assurance center, and will add 15 employees to its Kearney location in the next year. Based in Atlanta, the company currently employs 15 people in Kearney. Eurek hopes to double that number in the coming year.
